2) Keep boundaries in-world
Use quick OOC notes when needed (“OOC: fade-to-black”, “OOC: no X”), then go right back IC.
3) Take turns, trade offers
Offer an action, a line of dialogue, or a choice. Invite the bot to pick, counter, or escalate with consent.
4) Pace it like RP beats
One beat per message works best: action → reaction → consequence. Slow down when the emotion lands.

The fastest way to make RP feel alive is connection: curiosity, consent, pacing, and emotional truth.
- Regret hook: “What did you do that you can’t forgive yourself for — and why?”
- Refusal hook: “What’s your hard no, and what happens if I step near it?”
- Wound hook: “Where does it hurt when you pretend you’re fine?”
- Truth test: “Say the thing you won’t say when you’re trying to look strong.”
- Check-in (OOC): “Is this still okay? Want it softer or do we fade out?”
- Probe hesitation (IC): “Talk to me. What part of this scares you?”
- Offer exits: “We can stop, we can slow, or we can change the scene.”
- Protect agency: Ask permission before escalation; don’t narrate the other person’s consent.
- Echo: Repeat one key phrase back: “You said you’re tired of pretending.”
- Tempo: One action per message; let reactions breathe before the next move.
- Soft pressure: “You don’t have to explain. Just stay here with me.”
- Let it land: After a confession, respond with presence before plot.
- Name the want (OOC): “I want comfort after conflict” / “I want a slow-burn spiral.”
- Play the contradiction: “I say I’m fine, but my hands shake.”
- Ask for care: “Handle me like I’m fragile and dangerous.”
- Aftercare beat: End tense scenes with a check-in and a gentler closing image.
- Say the guardrails: “OOC: No X. Avoid Y. Fade to black if needed. Ask before escalating.”
- Invite check-ins: “If I go quiet, pause and check in. Don’t push through silence.”
- Stop phrase: Pick one word for freeze/rewind and one for soften/slow. Use instantly.
- Name your goal: Comfort, catharsis, tension, reconciliation, confession—state the target scene energy.
- Tone knobs: “OOC: more tender / less teasing / higher stakes / gentler.”
- Tempo knobs: “OOC: slower. One beat at a time. Pause and let that land.”
- Perspective knobs: “OOC: stay in first person. Show what you notice. Don’t narrate my feelings.”
- Continuity anchors: “OOC: we’re in the kitchen. You promised honesty.”
- Call the issue (OOC): “That’s out of character / too fast / too harsh.”
- Restate table rule: “Ask before escalating. Keep boundaries explicit.”
- Rewind one beat: “Back up to the last line that felt right, then continue.”
- Give an offer: “Respond with 3 in-character options, then I’ll pick.”
- Cold open: “I’m already inside, dripping rain onto your floor.”
- Pressure + choice: “Tell me the truth, or tell me to go.”
- Boundary check-in: “OOC: check in before you escalate. IC: ‘What do you need from me right now?’”
- Slow burn beat: “I don’t touch you. I just wait, letting the silence do the work.”
